In April, 14 at the department of integrated technologies of Mechanical Engineering Institute of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute there was a presentation of 3D printer made by school students.

On April 7, 2017, Head of the Department of Acoustics and Acoustoelectronics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vitalii Semenovych Didkovskyi celebrated his 80th anniversary.

On April 11, 2017 Ivan Vasyliovych Beiko, Professor of the Department of Mathematical Physics (KMF), FMF Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, a renowned scientist in the field of mathematical and computer modelling and complex systems optimal control, celebrated his 80th anniversary.

The first issue on the agenda was the report of the first vice-rector Y.I. Yakimenko "Tasks for University Units in Preparation for the New Academic Year."

This year is the 25th anniversary of the founding of the National Space Agency of Ukraine and 20 years of space flight of the first astronaut of independent Ukraine Leonid Kadeniuk within the programme of  Ukrainian-American mission STS-87.
