On July 31, 2023, Vitalii Vadymovych Ivashchenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Aircraft Production Technology of the Educational and Scientific Mechanical Engineering Institute, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, passed away.
Vitalii Vadymovych has been with Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute almost all his life, graduating with honors in 1960. Since 1960, he has worked at the Department of Metal Forming (since 2018 - the Department of Aircraft Manufacturing Technology) as an associate professor. He has more than 110 scientific papers (11 of which were published abroad) and is the author of 25 inventions.
"The cherished memory of Vitalii Vadymovych Ivashchenko, an outstanding teacher, scientist, organizer, poet, public figure, true patriot of Ukraine, a kind man with a sharp mind and a thirst for creativity, will forever remain in the hearts of friends, colleagues and students," the department says about the colleague.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral hall, 69 Verkhovynna St., Kyiv.
