Igor Sikorsky KPI has launched KPI ID, a unique single sign-on system that changes the user experience of students and teachers at Ukraine's largest technical university. Now, more than 22,000 users can access key university services through a single account and authentication, including Diya.Sign!

KPI ID is a convenient, innovative single sign-on and authorization service for the university community, which is a continuation of Igor Sikorsky KPI's systematic work on digital transformation.

With Diya.Sign, it has become even easier and safer for students and university staff to authenticate themselves to a single KPI ID account as a single point of entry to Igor Sikorsky KPI services: just scan the QR code or follow the link from your smartphone.

KPI notes that it was Diya that inspired the creation of a single account for using university services and says that KPI ID is, in a sense, “university Diya”: one account gives you access to everything.

The integration of Diya.Signature into KPI ID was made possible thanks to the active cooperation between the team at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Design Bureau of Information Systems at Igor Sikorsky KPI (KBIS).

According to Oles Kovtunets, director of KBIS, it is necessary to strive to create and develop a convenient, innovative service for the unified identification and authorization of the university community, which is entirely in the spirit of Ukraine's digital transformation.

Andriy Gubsky, deputy director of KBIS, emphasizes the relevance and importance of KPI ID for the university community, saying that before the launch of KPI ID, each student and teacher had to enter separate logins and passwords for each university system. This created a burden not only on users but also on technical services, slowing down the development of a unified digital ecosystem.

"The goal of the Design Bureau is to ensure the integration of all the university's digital services into a single convenient and comfortable ecosystem. We want users to feel confident and comfortable, regardless of which service they are working with," emphasizes Andriy Gubsky.

Already, with the help of Diya.Sign, you can log in to KPI ID and use the services of such university systems as “Electronic Campus KPI” and “My KPI,” which are currently used by approximately 20,000 students and more than 2,000 teachers and university employees.

The convenience and usefulness of these systems for the university community lies in the fact that they allow users to view important and necessary information about the organization and provision of the educational process in a convenient format.
The Igor Sikorsky KPI Electronic Campus is the first automated information system of its kind in Ukrainian higher education institutions, operating since 2011. Currently, it combines more than 9 large-scale modules:

  • current results during the semester (students can view, and teachers can assign grades);
  • calendar control results (two interim student performance checks during the semester);
  • test and exam information (session results);
  • the “Teacher through the eyes of students” survey (at the end of the semester after the session, students can anonymously evaluate teachers according to various criteria in a special module);
  • special modules for group supervisors and teachers (for example, regarding curricula, etc.);
  • announcements, messages, contact information, etc.

The KPI electronic campus is constantly evolving. Recent important updates include migrating the system to Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operation during blackouts starting in 2022, and updating the API after forming a modern technology stack. In April 2025, a new interface and design were implemented.

My KPI:

  • organization and planning of the educational process and student internships;
  • planning and access to the schedule;
  • selection of academic disciplines within the framework of an individual educational trajectory;
  • individual plans for students and teachers;
  • recording of achievements, planning of goals and key results (OKR) for teachers, etc.

The KPI ID architecture provides for integration with various information systems:

  • integration with “Dіya” provides the ability to authenticate without manually entering a password;
  • integration with the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (EDEBO) as the key source of all necessary information about students;
  • integration with the HR system allows you to obtain all the necessary information about the employee conducting the authentication procedure.

Given that KPI ID is integrated with Diya and EDEBO, it has great potential for the development of university digitalization.

Behind KPI ID is a whole team of developers, analysts, and students: Andriy Izvarin, Mykhailo Shylo, Dmytro Myach, Vladyslav Vovk, Oleg Zapara and Oleksiy Garagan. They plan to continue working on the project and developing it.

The developers' plans include integration with Bank ID, connecting all internal university services to KPI ID, and further improving the interface and user experience. As emphasized by Igor Sikorsky KPI, the goal is to create a unified information ecosystem for the university that will be organically integrated with the state digital infrastructure.

The successful implementation of the project and the architecture of the platform will allow for scaling and offering software solutions to other higher education institutions.
