Sergii Stirenko, Vice Rector for Scientific Work at Kyiv Polytechnic University, took part in the presentation of Ukraine's first virtual academy of environmental education in a new format, created by the Professional Association of Environmental Workers (PAEW) in partnership with NAEK Energoatom and the Office of Sustainable Solutions.
📌 The project will help universities, in particular Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, to obtain additional tools for training practitioners to implement the concept of “green recovery” and ensure the sustainability of communities and businesses.
EcoEducation was created based on an analysis of educational programs as an assistant and supplement for teachers and a resource for students. The project brought together leading lawyers, environmentalists, and experts in ESG, energy efficiency, and climate risks who implement reforms and adapt enterprises to European standards on a daily basis.
During the briefing, current issues were discussed regarding:
• student competencies;
• dual education;
• education success metrics;
• prospects for the development of “green” specialties (water safety, waste management, decarbonization/CBAM, environmental data analytics), etc.
We would like to remind you that Kyiv Polytechnic Institute began its cooperation with PAEW in April 2025, and in May 2025, KPI hosted the first ESG-REBOOT: education, engineering, and ecology.
