🇺🇦🇯🇵 Our university was visited by a special guest - Norito Kunisue, a professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo, a journalist.
He gave a lecture for the students of the Faculty of Linguistics “Unknown sides of war: 36 Years of Journalistic Experience”. It is also important that Norito Kunisue became a new lecturer at this faculty.
During the lecture, students plunged into the world of reporting from hot spots. The Japanese journalist, who has been personally covering the events in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, shared his experience of working in the war zone.
Mr. Kunisue is also a member of an international group that investigates and documents human rights violations, cooperating with international bodies to bring perpetrators to justice, and spoke about the International Criminal Tribunal and crimes against Ukrainians.
“I mostly create materials in Japanese, because my mission is to tell the true story of Ukraine to our government and society. However, this information is spread far beyond Japan. And many people learned about the tragedies of Bucha and Irpin, about Ukrainian refugees and other events of the war from Japanese journalists. We need to tell the international community the truth, not fakes,” said Norito Kunisue, Professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo.
The event was held with the assistance of the Ukrainian-Japanese Center of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
