124 years have passed since the foundation stone of the Main Building of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was laid.
For more than a century, our alma mater has been a center of ambitious youth and scientific community, technical development and innovations.
During its history, the university has come through a time of troubles more than once: two world wars, several revolutions, regime changes. Now it stands up against one of the most bitter trials - the full-scale russo-Ukrainian war. Despite everything, we work toward the good of our country as always.
We trust in our Victory! Soon we will certainly return to classroom studies. Until then, let's work together on the front of knowledge.
The university YouTube channel KPIMedia launched a series of documentaries about outstanding graduates and teachers of our alma mater for the anniversary.
The first series is dedicated to the brilliant aircraft designer Konstantin Kalinin. He created airplanes according to the "flying wing" aerodynamic scheme, which formed the basis for the supersonic aircraft of the future.
For many years, the name of the man of extraordinary genius was classified. He became a victim of the totalitarian soviet regime: he spent last years of his life in the torture chambers of NKVD. Konstantin Kalinin was executed by shooting after interrogations under tortures.
