On November 15-19, the National Hackathon on Cyber Security (NHCS) took place in Kyiv. The event has been organized by the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine together with the Centre for Strategic Communications StratCom Ukraine.
16 teams from the security and defense sector, educational and scientific institutions of Ukraine took part in the exercise. Leading international and domestic experts were mentors and judges of the competition.
The team "STK" of the ISCIS of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took third place in “Cyber protection of critical infrastructure”.
The Code Defenders team of the ISCIS of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute won first place in the task "Extraction (collection), processing, analysis and display of open source information (OSINT) for detecting and preventing cyberattacks and cyber incidents".
The Code Defenders team has also won a special prize - it will receive funding for a cybersecurity course from NATO.
Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Mykhailo Zgurovsky announced the winners.
