The competitions "TIDE Hackathon 2019" took place from February 25 to March 1 in Warsaw (Poland).

"TIDE Hackathon" is annual competitions for specialists in programming, which are organized by NATO within the actions which promote improvement of interaction between NATO,  members of NATO and the partner countries. In 2019, 15 teams from countries of NATO and Ukraine were announced to participate. Our country was represented by three teams selected by the international secretariat of NATO after providing them with the relevant materials. So, the team of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine participated in the category "Modeling" (Modeling Challenge);

the team of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine participated in the category “Coding”(Coding Challenge); the team of the State Special Communication Service of Ukraine, which included research staff and students of the Institute for Special Communications and Information Protection at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute , participated in the category “Visualization” (Visualization Challenge).

The purposes of the competitions were:

  • development of innovative architectural models, views and methods for presentation and understanding of information by officials of military management bodies;
  • development of new hardware and software solutions for military purposes;
  • providing information of interaction between divisions through the exchange of knowledge in the joint solution of their military tasks.

During the competition, the team of the State Special Communication Service of Ukraine developed a software for informational support of analysts and persons, who make decisions during the completion of military tasks by bodies of military administration.

The winning teams received awards and diplomas from NATO and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
