Rostyslav Pashkov, student of the PO-81mp gr. of the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering (supervisor - Senior lecturer of the OPCB A. V. Piatova) became the winner of II stage of All-Ukrainian student competition “environmental health and safety”. It was hold on the basis of the Department of Labor protection, industrial and civil safety (Head of the department - PhD in Chemistry, associate professor O. L. Mirus) of Lviv State University of Life Safety, during May 12-15, 2019.
In particular, practical experience and skills of providing premedical assistance were evaluated during the competition among 122 participants - students and cadets from 52 Ukraine HEEs. Depending on the specifics of the university, participants were divided into groups. There was determined the winner of the group.
Competition was divided into 2 rounds. During the first one participants were doing 70 test questions, writing 2 exercises and solving logic crossword. During the 2nd they were doing practical tasks by providing premedical assistance, demonstrating the level of theoretical knowledge.
Tasks from the practical part were divided into 2 situations: resuscitation measures and the providing of premedical assistance due to disturbance of basic vital functions or injuries. During the assessment, highly qualified and competent judges considered not only the propriety and speed of assistance, but also creativity. The participants showed a high level of knowledge, having gained priceless experience; everyone was interested in solving the proposed tasks.
At the closing ceremony, the rector of the university, Professor Myroslav Koval, thanked all participants and organizers of the competition and noted that the life safety problems are very important in our everyday life. He wished all the present health, peace, love and safety.
In addition to diplomas, participants received certificates and gifts from sponsors, and most importantly, priceless practical experience as well as positive impressions from their presence at the Lviv State University of Life Safety.
