Among the best students of Igor Sikorsky KPI who stepped on the area of ​​Knowledge on the freshman's day, was also a representative of the ZF - a six-year student Illia Novikov. He duly represented Kyiv Polytechnic at all-Ukrainian professional competitions and became the best in the Olympiad on restoration and improvement of wear resistance of parts and structures (Kropyvnytsky) and in the contest of students' welding works (Zaporizhzhia).

Illia suddenly began to tell the story about himself: "I think I should start my history of scientific achievements from school time, and it began with a complete failure - I was not only the worst student of the class, but also the worst pupil of the school. Every year my school report card was full of  bad marks."

Whether the stars changed their route, whether the boy grew up and became more accountable, but in college his attitude to studying has changed dramatically. "Teachers were teaching their subjects in such a way that they were interesting to listen to," the young man remenices. "I liked physics and mathematics especially most of al. When I was finishing a college, Igor Sikorsky KPI was said to be the most complicated technical university in the country."

The young man decided to join Kyiv Polytechnic to test his strength. It was easy to join, it was difficult to study.
