On December 5 Igor Sikorsky KPI was visited by a delegation of top managers and heads of structural divisions of the corporation "Boeing".
The delegation included Vice President of Boeing International Serhiy Kravchenko, Vice President - General Manager of the New Aircraft Program for the Mid-Market Mark Jenks, Vice President, Chief Engineer of the 777X Project John Terence Bizhold, as well as the heads of the corporate divisions of the corporation for individual directions. They were accompanied by the director of the "Boeing-Ukraine" branch Oleksiy Stepin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Progresstech Group of Companies Volodymyr Kulchytsky, Director of Progresstech-Ukraine Andriy Fialkovsky and others.
A brief excursion to the university campus was held for guests, during which the rector of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky told them about the history of Igor Sikorsky KPI, its traditions and current time. Representatives of the corporation inspected monuments to prominent engineers and scientists, whose life and activities were associated with Kyiv Polytechnic, as well as the exposition of the State Polytechnic Museum and its Department of Aviation and Cosmonautics named after I. Sikorsky
The participants of the meeting discussed some issues of cooperation between the corporation and the university in terms of training specialists according to the dual education system for “S.P. Tymoshenko Boeing – Ukraine” Engineering center, which is held on the basis of the Joint Educational and Scientific Centers of Igor Sikorsky KPI and Boeing and Progresstech-Ukraine companies, opened on the basis of the Mechanical Engineering Institute. In addition, there was a conversation about the implementation of joint innovation projects at the university and the involvement of students in this work. Finally, representatives of the Boeing corporation presented the rector with a memorable certificate for a grant in the amount of 50 thousand US dollars for the implementation of the project for the creation of PolyITAN university nanosatellite satellites.
