On March 29th Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the representatives of the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST, Seoul) - Dean Sang Kyung Kim and Director of the International Research Academy of the institute Kyong Hwa Lee.
The meeting was attended by Pro-rector of teaching and educational work Petro Kyrychok. Head of the Subdivision of Foreign Economic Affairs of the Department of International Cooperation Andrii Shysholin, the coordinators of the academic mobility of the Faculty of Electronics and the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering. Anton Popov and Larysa Kalashnikova, and others.
The KPI's cooperation with South Korean universities has been expanded lately. One of the main partners of the Kyiv Polytechnics in this direction is the Korean Institute of Science and Technology. As Petro Kyrychok noticed at the beginning of the meeting, only within last two years the KIST was already visited by ten interns from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Moreover, five students from the Faculty of Electronics and two from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering are staying currently in Korea according to the double diploma programme.
Therefore, during the meeting, the participants discussed the prospects and organizational issues of enhancing their cooperation, not only within the double diploma programmes but also within scientific exchanges and other areas.
After a preliminary discussion. Sang Kyung Kim and Kyong Hwa Lee made a presentation on the KIST-Igor Sikorsky KPI double diploma programme for master and postgraduate students of technical specialties at the Faculty of Electronics.
