November 20, a delegation of the Kyiv City State Administration visited NTUU "KPI". It was purely a working visit devoted to discussing ways of effective cooperation of city government and the university scientists.
The delegation was headed by the deputy chairman of KSCA Peter Panteleev, and it consisted of the heads of the Department of Industry and Enterprise Development - director Maxim Kuz'menko, his deputies, Anatoly Bagan and Natalia Kondrashova, deputy head of industry and innovation policy Natalia Kovalishina and Head of the Department of Business and Management Infrastructure Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Larissa Getman.The president of the Kyiv City Association of Employers, chairman of the "Association" Kiev "Vitaly Maiko together with the delegation visited KPI.
Regulation of the meeting was very tough - not more than one and a half hours. The mood of meeting was also businesslike. After a brief introduction about the activities of NTU "KPI" as a research university, made by the Vice President for Research, NAS academician Mikhail Il'chenko, its members immediately started to discuss the projects that could be useful to the city. Actually, it was a proposal for the use in the urban economy already finished developments specialists of faculties and institutes of NTUU "KPI". Heads of faculties, departments and research groups of the University made presentations of such projects.
Dean of the Faculty of Hear Power Energy Professor Eugene Pismenny offered to representatives of the Kiev authorities to develop water boilers contact type with extremely high efficiency, new burners and gas burning systems, energy efficient heat recovery units (the guests at once had interest in them).
Dean of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automation Professor Alexander Yandulsky said about projects that can be used on a municipal electric transport, electrical grids and in the city water utility.
He was replaced by Director Research and Training Center "Energy for sustainable development" of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management KPI assistant professor Artem Kovalchuk - he briefed the guests on the integrated program "Energy Efficient City" and the projects that are currently implemented by the Institute on orders and on campus.
Than it was the turn of the Scientific Director of the Park "Kyiv Polytechnic" Jaroslav Kologrivov. He informed the representatives of the city authorities about the basic principles of the activities of the Park and its partners, as well as the innovative environment, which provides students, engineers and scientists with the opportunity to translate their ideas into practice, create a startup and display their product in the market.This report was complemented by the Rector of NTUU "KPI" NAS of Ukraine academician Michael Zgurovsky. He spoke about the foreign experience of partnership, in particular the cooperation of the municipality, the Technical University and the business structures of Stockholm. Through this collaboration, the Swedish capital Kista district, where there are the faculties and departments of the Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University, and at the same time large high-tech companies, has become a high-tech capital of the country (it even wears the unofficial name "Swedish Silicon Valley") and helps to successfully overcome the problem of urban economy. So Michael Zgurovsky noted the need to transfer such experiences on domestic soil and the need for partnerships between government, science and business: "In all the high-tech environments authority is the partner of universities. Because the government takes on the mission of managing urban development through the introduction of high technology. Therefore, it is related to the innovative structures as a shareholder, takes part in the management, strategy development, monitoring, etc. ".

The Head of the department of theoretical and industrial heat engineering Faculty of Heat Power Energy Professor Gennady Varlamov completed the presentation. He said that at the department there were developed a number of ready to implement in the urban economy projects, aimed at providing energy and saving resources. He focused on the fact that on the basis of the University and the Institute of Postgraduate Education created 72 hours refresher course for leaders of housing organization and condominiums Kiev "Innovative energy-efficient design for implementing a system of housing and communal services". At this courses the audience has opportunity to get information about modern methods of electricity, heat and gas saving and the development of sociological interaction with consumers. Graduates receive a certificate of graduation. This work is organized in conjunction with the PJSC "Kyivenergo" and it is extremely useful for people who work directly in the system housing.
The meeting resulted in agreements on the inclusion of a representative of the KSCA in the Supervisory Board of the Scientific Park "Kyiv Polytechnic" and representative of NTUU "KPI" - in Expert advice on energy saving at the KSCA. Rector of KPI Michael Zgurovsky proposed to include a representative of the university before the deliberative body of city government on integrated development of the city based on new technological approaches. However, deputy chairman of KSCA Peter Panteleev said that there is no such the group yet. But now the city administration will be working much more closely with the KPI and responsibility for these links rests directly with the director of the Department of Industry and Enterprise Development KSCA Kuz'menko Maxim and his deputy - head of industry and innovation policy Anatoly Bagan.
