🎥 Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and WINS: a new meeting, new horizons for cooperation
University media have already reported that last September, on the sidelines of the 69th session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, KPI Rector Anatoliy Melnychenko signed a joint document with Rafael Grossi, Director General of this leading international organization on atomic energy, outlining practical agreements between the organization and the university regarding cooperation in the field of nuclear and physical safety and technologies, as well as the development of educational programs in these areas, etc. It should be added that during the conference, the rector also met with the heads of a number of international organizations in the field of nuclear energy, in particular the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS). And on February 16, a new meeting took place with one of WINS’ leaders—its Executive Director Lars van Dassen, who headed the World Institute’s delegation that visited Igor Sikorsky KPI that day.

The State Academic Scholarships named after the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred honor the heroic deeds of the youngest members of the Heavenly Hundred. Each scholarship is named after one of the heroes and is awarded to students majoring in the same field as that person. At the end of last year, the Ministry of Education and Science issued an order on the awarding of the President of Ukraine’s academic scholarships to graduate students for the 2025/2026 academic year. These scholarships will be awarded to candidates with outstanding scientific or academic achievements as an incentive for their work and motivation to achieve high results. Among the recipients is Andriy Makarchuk, an assistant professor in the Department of Software Engineering in Energy at the Institute of IATE.
Cogeneration as part of engineering education: KPI launches a training course within the Energy Resilience Lab with the participation of RSE
Starting next semester, Igor Sikorsky KPI will introduce a training course on cogeneration, integrated into the educational programs for training power engineers. The training course was developed in partnership with the engineering company RSE and will be implemented at the Energy Resilience Lab, a laboratory for autonomous and sustainable energy supply.
Internship for KPI Female Researchers at Bio-H2 Umwelt GmbH
In late fall, as part of agreements with the “Ukraine Energy Autark” association aimed at promoting innovative research projects and their implementation to achieve Ukraine’s energy self-sufficiency, Olga Vlasenko, senior lecturer at the Institute of IATE at the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering, and Dina Koltysheva, assistant at the Department of Bioenergy, Bioinformatics and Ecobiotechnology at the FBT Dina Koltysheva, successfully completed an internship in Germany on the topic “Biogas and Energy Biomass Utilization” (pictured).
