Students of Faculty of Aircraft and Space Systems of NTUU “KPI” celebrated their professional holiday in a special way this year. This time they were guests at their old partner - Ukrainian Youth Aerospace Association "Constellation", which conducted the "Week of space" in the Republican planetarium. The 9th of April was dedicated to the students. In addition to fax machines, and students of the Faculty of Heat and Power, the event was attended by students of another university - National Aviation University.
The meeting was started by the first astronaut of independent Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine Leonid Konstantinovich Kadeniuk. He told the students that in his space flight he took "Kobsar" by Shevchenko and this fact symbolically connects two points of dates 2014: 80th anniversary of the birth of Y.O.Haharina and the 200th anniversary of the birth of T.G. Shevchenko. Interesting and informative story L.K.Kadenyuka ended, as always, an endless queue wanting to be photographed with an astronaut.
Chairman of the union "Knowledge" of Ukraine Vasily Kusherets told the students about the work of the company and invited them to a large room, under the dome of the planetarium, a review of the popular short 3-D film on the history of the universe.
After viewing the film, students discussed the status of the work of local groups "Yevroavia" who created NTUU "KPI" and NAU. This organisation is more than 50 years old and brings together students of aerospace universities in Europe; Ukraine joined the "Yevroavia" in 1997. Unfortunately, in recent years, both Ukrainian local groups slightly decreased their level of activity in the organization. Students of both universities have agreed to work together to improve the situation in this regard.
Certainly, an interesting report was Senior Scientist, Ph.D. Boris Mikhailovich Rassamakin on the status and prospects of microsatellite student that his department is developing cogeneration "KPI". The participants were impressed by the level of work performed and wished the team the speedy launch of the satellite.
A report "Flying to Mars - a reality" by assistant chair of theoretical mechanics Alexander Timofeevich Dekhtyar finished the meeting. Combining materials of his dissertation research with information about the energy challenges of the future, he proved that only exploration of the space will allow the future development of mankind. And in this process the current Ukrainian students should play a decent role.
