On March 11, photo exhibition "Bound smile" was opened in the exhibition hall of Ukrainian-Japanese Center NTUU "KPI".
The exhibition is timed to the anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake - one of the most powerful earthquakes in the history of Japan. She opened promptly at 14-46 - that the hour three years ago, the first tremors of this unprecedented in its scale earthquake that has engulfed the northeast coast of Japan's main island of Honshu. Therefore, the ceremony began with a moment of silence for the victims of this terrible tragedy.
"It is nice that Ukrainian, despite the current difficulties in their country, remember the tragedy that befell Japan three years ago, its victims and support our people, - said in his welcoming remarks, First Secretary of Embassy of Japan in Ukraine on Culture and Information Tandja Hideyuki.
The exhibition presents the work of the smiles photographer from Japan Yuichi Kato. The photos are kind of a message from the children of the Tohoku region - a region that has suffered as a result of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident Fukucima in March 2011. Smiling faces of children and their parents in his photos - clear evidence of unsuperable force of the spirit of the Japanese people and their optimism. However, the exhibition includes not only portraits and genre scenes involving children. There are also the views of the affected regions and pictures of people who are working to overcome its consequences.
The exhibition will run until March 16, inclusive. Schedule: Monday to Friday - 11:00 to 19:00, Saturday - Sunday - from 12.00 to 18.00. Admission is free.
