State Labor Service of Ukraine Invites Employers to Celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work Together!

On 28 April, the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work promotes preventing occupational accidents and diseases in Ukraine. It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus the attention of society, public authorities, businesses, non-governmental organizations on health and safety at work. We began to observe World Day because we wanted to stress the prevention of vocational accidents and diseases and honor those who died at work.

Every year, the International Labour Organization (ILO) draws public attention to the various challenges that arise in labor protection. In 2021 the motto of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is “Anticipate, prepare and respond to crises. Invest Now in Resilient Occupational Safety and Health Systems” (OSH).

We invite everyone to be active and participate in the discussion in labor collectives of problem issues related to measures aimed at promoting occupational safety and health, strengthening occupational safety and health systems.

To create a decent and safe working environment, it is necessary to focus on identifying best practices that allow:

  • conduct business under conditions required for various reasons;
  • ensure compliance with occupational safety and health legislation and policy:
  • prevent new potential risks arising from measures to reduce the spread of acute respiratory illness COVID-19 in the country, including psychosocial risk and risk of violence. These risks can affect the employee in establishing remote, home-based forms of work organization.

In turn, the State Labor Service is ready to help in solving topical issues in labor and labor protection.  The State Service also promotes forming an environment that will increase employers' awareness of implementing advanced practices in labor protection and investing in them.
