Dear veterans and current defenders of our Homeland! Dear colleagues!
On October 14, our state celebrates the Defender of Ukraine Day - a holiday in commemoration of our victorious ancestors who fought for the right to independence and freedom at the cost of their lives; a holiday celebrating the Cossack valor; a holiday of tribute to the veterans of the Second World War who defended their land. This is a day of honoring today's heroes who bravely protect Ukrainian borders.
We bow in grief to heroes who gave their lives in the east of the country in the name of the sovereignty and unity of our state. Eternal memory to the soldiers who died fighting for a free, independent Ukraine.
Eternal glory to the heroes of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, who laid down their lives and gave us an opportunity to teach and learn, create, work: Serhii Bondarev, Pavlo Mazurenko, Yurii Popravka, Maksym Shapoval, Ihor Pavlov, Oleksandr Petryshchuk, Volodymyr Kochetkov-Sukach, Ihor Shevchenko, Vladyslav Diusov, Andrii Yeremenko, Yurii Artiukh, Vadym Zherebylо, Oleksandr Kondratiuk, Mykhailo Fedorenko.

Since March 2014, to defend our Homeland 36 employees have been mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and more than 300 graduates from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute have volunteered for the past years. At present, the university has 28 employees, 20 servicemen, almost 50 students - members of the ATO and the Joint Forces Operation.
The Day of Defender of Ukraine is a national holiday of unconquered conscious citizens who provide economic, humanitarian, educational and informational protection of the state with their professional, teaching, scientific, public activities, conscientious work and study, volunteer work.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute provides comprehensive assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The staff and students participate in numerous programs to develop the latest models of weapons and military equipment, protective equipment for soldiers on the battlefield.
