How to Counter Disinformation: A Meeting at KPI with Mihai Văcariu and Nicolae Mocanu

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted an open lecture by 🇷🇴 Romanian scholar and lecturer Mihai Văcariu, known for his research in the fields of communication theory, philosophy, and cinema, and the director of the Romanian TV channel TVR Moldova, Nicolae Mocanu. The guests were accompanied by Ukrainian poet, writer, and public figure Oksana Stomina.

“Snow Leopards” from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

In mountaineering, a “Snow Leopard” is an honorary title that has been awarded in the USSR since the mid-1960s for ascending the country's highest peaks—the seven-thousanders. Without oxygen tanks, without porters, with cumbersome heavy gear, in felt boots and self-sewn clothing, enthusiasts conquered the icy kilometers of mountain slopes. It was only in the 1990s that lightweight and reliable equipment and innovative materials appeared. Among the recipients of the “Conqueror of the Highest Mountains” badge is a constellation of Kyiv Polytechnic graduates. Let’s name them.

The Water Decontamination Team. Our Work Was Not in Vain

Kyiv Polytechnic has previously published articles about the technology for treating water contaminated with radionuclides that was developed by a team of researchers from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute during the first weeks following the Chornobyl disaster.

"Rights in Our Hands" Exhibition at the State Polytechnic Museum

The State Polytechnic Museum named after Borys Paton at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute recently opened the photo exhibition Rights in Our Hands. The exhibition was inaugurated to mark Ukrainian Volunteer Day on March 14. The exhibition was organized by Amnesty International Ukraine in partnership with the State Polytechnic Museum named after Borys Paton at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the University's Veteran Development Center. Notably, the Museum is the exhibition's second venue. It was first presented in Washington, D.C., in February this year.
