The Student Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is a student self-government body that implements diverse ideas, supports and protects students’ rights in both academic and extracurricular activities, and ensures their participation in shaping university life. In our work, we adhere to the principles of transparency, openness, democracy, political neutrality, and accountability to the student community.

The Student Council brings together active young people who work as a team to improve the educational process, organize events, help resolve student issues, and facilitate effective communication between students and the University administration. We cooperate with a wide range of youth and student organizations, civic associations, businesses, and government institutions.

Main Goals and Objectives of the Student Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

  • Protecting the rights, freedoms, and interests of students in educational, social, research, and other areas;
  • Participating in university governance, improving the quality of students’ educational, research, and practical activities, enhancing the educational process, and strengthening the quality assurance system;
  • Developing students’ soft skills, including communication and language skills, leadership, time management, teamwork, responsibility, integrity, critical thinking, management and organizational skills, and empathy;
  • Analyzing and summarizing international, national, youth, and student trends and practices and actively implementing them at the University;
  • Supporting student organizations focused on engineering, research, volunteering, entertainment, sports, social sciences and humanities, and other areas, including providing them with facilities and financial support;
  • Providing students with information about important events at the University, in Ukraine, and around the world.

Areas of Work of the Student Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute
  • Overall coordination of the University’s student self-government bodies;
  • Digitalization of University and student self-government processes;
  • Supporting the electoral process within student self-government and participating in the University’s collegial governing bodies, including the Academic Council and the Conference of the University’s Labour Collective;
  • Conducting financial and administrative activities, including providing financial support to student organizations;
  • Participating in student accommodation and initiatives aimed at improving students’ living, dining, and everyday conditions;
  • Communicating with student and youth organizations, other higher education institutions, government bodies, and commercial and non-commercial partners, as well as promoting the University among students at the national level;
  • Participating in commissions dealing with conflict resolution and updating regulatory documents to protect students’ rights during their studies;
  • Developing volunteering and charitable initiatives among students and supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Organizing educational, research, cultural, spiritual, sports, recreational, and other extracurricular activities and fostering a vibrant student-life environment;
  • Monitoring social support for students in areas including admission, accommodation, scholarships, safety, resilience centers, recreation and wellness facilities, and sports grounds;
  • Managing social media profiles, developing the Student Council’s brand, and reporting to students on its activities;
  • Helping create an inclusive physical, educational, and psychological environment that protects the rights and interests of war veterans, people with limited mobility, including people with disabilities, pregnant women, and older adults;
  • Participating in the University’s career guidance activities and admission campaign, helping prospective students navigate the admission process and choose an educational programme.
