The developed network of passenger railway transport provides convenience and comfort to people in the country. Railway transport is constantly updated, opening new routes for the needs of the population. During holidays and summer schedule is supplemented with the additional trains. Railway stations are mostly equipped with the modern electronic equipment, which provides the necessary information and serves people when they travel,and they are equipped with comfortable waiting rooms.

However, the railway transport as any other vehicles is a source of increased danger. The dangerous factors are railways, boarding platform, trains (of power, etc.), the likelihood of injury during boarding or disembarkation.

Using the railway transport, you should obey the following safety rules:

  • You can cross railways only in specified places (on pedestrian bridges, crossings, etc.);
  • When approaching the transition, you must closely monitor light and audible alarm, the position of the barrier; you can cross railways only when the barrier is opened;
  • Do not run on the platform of the station along a train that arrives or departs;
  • To stand no closer than two meters from the edge of the platform while train passes without stopping;
  • To go on the train is allowed only after the complete stop train;
  • Landing to the train and out of it is allowed only on the side of platform; thus be careful and cautious for not to stumble and not fall into the gap between the landing platform and the platform of the train;
  • During the moving of the train do not open external doors, do not stand on the pegs and transitional areas, and does not stick out from the windows of train;
  • Do not use opened fire and use appliances that work on the electrical wagon in the train;
  • You mustn’t carry fuel and explosives things;
  • If you see the smoke, you should seek conductor;
  • Do not pluck unless absolutely necessary emergency brake; remember that even in case of fire you cannot stop a train on a bridge, in a tunnel and other places that can cause complications of evacuation;
  • In case of an emergency keep calm during the evacuation, take with you only those things that are needed, and leave the big things in the car; help passengers with children, women, the elderly, the disabled and others;
  • Do not throw garbage, plastic and glass through the train window because it can cause harm to people who are at the track, or members of the maintenance crews who work.

Following these rules you reduce the risk of disasters in railway transport.
