Since May 201 a volunteering for the benefit of the armed forces involved in the area of anti-terrorist operations started  by the initiative group of staff and students of the Faculty . A striking example of the welding faculty military aid are  our efforts to improve the protection of military armored vehicles.

All caring faculty members responded to the appeal of the 2nd Battalion of the 95th separate brigade airmobale AFU of assistance in the development and manufacture of technology on a non-commercial basis  of anticummulative screens. They collected the necessary voluntary cash contributions and purchased materials for the first experimental batch of screens. Headed by Associate Professor V.A.Paharenko tooling for assembly and welding elements screens according provided project documentation was designed and manufactured. The students showed high activity and inspiration at every step. After training, they performed under the supervision of procurement and welding work. Especially it is necessary to note the work of students E.Bilitskiy, D.Oleschuk, O.Romanitsa, S.Talantsev, B.Chmil, M.Eliseev, I.Bats, O.Stoyanov, E.Malahov, graduate student A.Minakov.

22 screens were made quickly enough- the first complete set for installation on the BTR-80. The next stage of this work was the transportation of the screens to the place of military units temporary stationing in the area of the ATO. This was done by faculty members: Associate Professor O.A.Slivinsky, Senior Lecturer S.M.Minakov, a graduate student S.O.Nestulya engineer V.V.Mospan.

Military gratefully accepted set of anticummulative screens and together with our employees set them on the body BTR-80. It was agreed to make a few more sets of screens for the military unit.
