On 1 October 2024, the Kyiv Basketball Championship started. This year's competition involves 12 men's university teams, including the team of Kyiv Polytechnic.
In the first game of the championship, the KPI team confidently defeated the team of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine with a score of 127:19.
The guests of the championship noted the professionalism and high level of training of the team and the KPI coaching staff. This is not the first time our players have shown such high results. After all, Kyiv Polytechnic has a developed basketball culture.
The Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute basketball team is well known among athletes and fans for its cohesion and playing skills and has repeatedly won competitions at various levels. Over the past 15 years, our team has been the strongest in Kyiv. It has many victories in cup tournaments and championships of Ukraine.
Nowadays, Kyiv Polytechnic actively cooperates with the Basketball Federation of Ukraine on the development of student sports. The rector of KPI Anatoliy Melnychenko and the general secretary of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine Volodymyr Drabikovskyi have already planned future basketball competitions, including the final of the basketball championship, which will be held in November at our university.
The Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute team continues to train hard and is ready to win the next competitions!
