Michael Zgurovsky, the Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of the NAS of Ukraine was awarded a medal named after M. M. Amosov for his contribution to the development of national science and the establishment of the School of Biomedical Engineering and Biocybernetics in Ukraine. The award was presented at the 7th Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation "Amosov's Readings", which took place on December 6 in the Hall of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Association of Cardiovascular Surgery, National M.M. Amosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of the NAMS of Ukraine, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, O. O. Bogomolets National Medical University and Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education were the organizers of the conference.

Mykola Amosov  is a founder of the Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, widely known versatile scientist and surgeon, writer, cyberneticist and  social activist. He marked the whole epoch, leaving behind thousands of followers who continue the work of a reputed scientist in Ukraine and beyond its borders.

The participants of the conference mentioned Mykola Amosov's achievements in their reports, discussed the problems of the present and future cardiac surgery, the ideas of artificial intelligence in medicine and biology, etc. Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Dmytro Koval participated in the conference.

At the conference, Michael Zgurovsky presented a report on "Big Data Mining in Economics and Society", in which he drew attention to the problems of artificial intelligence. At the conference, the reposts were also presented by Rector of Zaporizhzhya Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education and Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Nikonenko - “History of transplantation in Ukraine”; by Director of the Cardiac Surgery Department of Shiba Medical Center in Israel Leonid Sternik - "New direction in cardiac surgery Sheba Medical Center"; Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems and Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Anatoliy Shevchenko - "Artificial Intelligence: History, Present, Future. Functional diagram of artificial personality construction"; Yevhen Nastenko, the Head of the Department of Biomedical Cybernetics of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute   - "Artificial Intelligence in Medicine".
