Valentyn Anatoliyovych Svidersky was born on October 10, 1949. His childhood and youth passed in the village of Rokytne, Rivne region, where his grandfather and father worked at the local glass factory. So,from childhood he knew about the work of glass workers. And this probably influenced on his choice of profession.

In 1972, Valentin graduated from the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In 1975 he defended his PhD thesis, in 1987 - a doctorate, in 1990 he was awarded the academic title of professor.Since 1990, he has been the Head of the Chair of Composite Chemical Technology.In 1992 he was elected academician of the Engineering Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

His innovative experimental and theoretical developments in the field of chemical technology of silicates and composite materials are distinguished by a wide range of directions:development of scientific principles of obtaining silicate and organoelemental compound, prediction of their physical and chemical properties during operation in extreme conditions and their protection by reducing the destructive action by special coatings and impregnating solutions, the creation of new types of composites, protective and decorative coatings, binding materials, ceramics, resource conservation. Its development was implemented at the enterprises of the building materials industry, in the military-industrial complex, while liquidation the consequences of the Chornobyl catastrophe.

The results of the research have been published in about 720 scientific papers - monographs, articles in professional journals, and have been tested at numerous international conferences. The novelty of the development is confirmed by copyright certificates and patents for the invention.

Valentyn Anatoliyovych Svidersky winner of the State Prize of the USSR (1981), Honorary Education of Ukraine (1998), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2004), Honored Worker of the Cement Industry of Ukraine (2009).

He has extensive experience in training highly skilled industry professionals and academics.He has trained 9 doctors and 35 candidates of sciences.

His intellectual and professional level is combined with his active civic position - understanding of patriotism by the degree of his own contribution to the development of his country, strengthening its defense capability and innovative development of national production. Colleagues at work and friends see him as an intelligent, smart man, with positive emotionality, demanding and perseverance in solving scientific, pedagogical and organizational issues. The family loves and respects him as a faithful man, a caring father, a kind grandfather.

Professor Valentyn Anatoliyovych Svidersky meets his anniversary full of new scientific ideas on the working watch for the preparation of a new cohort of specialists, who should increase the glory of Ukraine and his university.
