Monument is a stele made of monolithic tinted concrete shaped like an improperly oblong pentagon. On the front side of the stele there is a high relief with two sculptures at full height. On the left, there is a soldier with a gun in the lowered right arm and a flag in the raised left, the cloth of which forms the upper edge of the end, descending to the adjacent face. To the right there is a girl who squeezes a strap of the rifle thrown over the shoulder. The hem of the streaming dress and her left hand create an active dynamic rhythm of lines and shapes, which continues with lines of inscriptions on the adjacent face. Despite the limited possibilities of the material, the figures are distinguished by realistic credibility in the development of the form and reproduction of everyday details and emotionality. The sculptural and adjacent faces form the facade of the composition. Its dynamic forward direction is achieved due to the difference between the heights of the fore and the rear faces. The bronze Order of the Great Patriotic War and the inscription with bronze letters devoted to it are imbedded on the facade. On the back there are the words by the poet A. Malyshko: "They who for freedom fought against death, will not perish on earth"

The stele’s height - fore - 4.87 m, rear - 2.95 m, dimensions in the plan - 1.62 x 6.7 x 0.65 x 8.85 x 1.04 m.

"To students, teachers, staff Kiev Order of Lenin Polytechnic Institute, who gave their lives for the Soviet motherland in the battles of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945"
