If, as the saying goes, a theater begins with its coat rack, then one of the oldest laboratories at Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute begins with a spiral staircase. This is the Educational and Research Laboratory of Biopolymer Technology and Modification, where generations of students specializing in this field have studied and conducted research.
⚡️ Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has taken another step toward advancing modern engineering education with the opening of the R&D Laboratory "Installation and Operation of Electrical Equipment".
A memorial plaque honoring Mariia Bihun (Leut) was unveiled in Building No. 18 of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, at her home faculty — the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering (FIOT). Mariia was a student of the university, a servicemember of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a junior sergeant, and a UAV operator. The ceremony was held on what would have been her birthday.
📡The Center for Space Communications and Radio Astronomy has been opened at the Faculty of Radio Engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The project was implemented with the support of sponsors, and the students set up the space themselves—from repairs and electrical installation to configuring high-frequency equipment. The laboratory already has an official license and a call sign for international broadcasting.
🌲As part of landscaping efforts, “Vatereri” pine trees were planted near the university’s Building 6. The initiative to green one of our alma mater’s key locations was supported by the university’s labor union.
A new educational and research space—the Industrial Systems Control Laboratory—has been opened at the Faculty of Electronics. 🤝 The project was implemented through a strategic partnership between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Siemens Ukraine, and Chervona Hvylia.
The Educational, Scientific, Publishing, and Printing Institute (VPI Institute) at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute presented a renovated shelter and a new student space.
University media have already reported that last September, on the sidelines of the 69th session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, KPI Rector Anatoliy Melnychenko signed a joint document with Rafael Grossi, Director General of this leading international organization on atomic energy, outlining practical agreements between the organization and the university regarding cooperation in the field of nuclear and physical safety and technologies, as well as the development of educational programs in these areas, etc. It should be added that during the conference, the rector also met with the heads of a number of international organizations in the field of nuclear energy, in particular the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS). And on February 16, a new meeting took place with one of WINS’ leaders—its Executive Director Lars van Dassen, who headed the World Institute’s delegation that visited Igor Sikorsky KPI that day.
Employees of the Department of Property and Social Affairs created another Point of Invincibility in the first building of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. From now on, polytechnicians can study, teach and work freely during power outages.
