The tumultuous year 2025 is drawing to a close. Amid the whirlwind of events, anxieties, struggles, and everyday concerns, a moment has arisen to indulge in a philosophical and historical reflection and take a look at the history of the Department of Laser Engineering and Physical-Technical Technologies. And immediately the question arose: what should serve as the starting point—the establishment of the department as a graduating unit, the launch of the major, the inception of the field, or the creation of the basic laboratories from which it all began?

On November 18–19, 2025, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the international scientific and practical conference “Resilient Communities – Stable Future: Ukrainian-Polish Experience in Crisis Response.” It was dedicated to contemporary challenges facing the functioning of socio-economic systems, ensuring the sustainable development of local communities, and implementing effective models for responding to crisis situations.

The first university-wide Open House of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, KPI AbitFest, took place on December 13.

On December 25, the mysteries and magic of the Christmas and New Year holidays begin. And they are ushered in by the Christian world’s second-largest holiday after Easter—Christmas. Traditionally, it is celebrated not only by believers of various denominations but also by those who are indifferent to religion.

As Kyiv Polytechnic previously reported, at the end of the XIV Festival of Innovative Projects “Sikorsky Challenge 2025,” in accordance with its program and within the framework of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization's project “Global Innovation and Networking Program in Green Chemistry” (GreenChem), the Global Greenchem Hackathon 2025 was held from October 31 to November 2.
