In the 110-year history of the KPI cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is one of the key traditions. Prominent scientists of the Academy, who at the same time worked at the Academy of Sciences and in the KPI, always formed the content of this co-operation.
Not so many photos of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute period of the first years of its existence has survived to our time. Most of them are in albums, which were presented to the first rector of the KPI V.L. Kirpichov in 1902.

December 25, 2006 was a 100’s anniversary since a tragic death of the former director of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (1902 - 1904) and the first dean and organizer of the Department (Faculty) Chemistry, a prominent scientist and chemist Michael Ivanovich Konovalov.
Among the prominent Soviet scientists in electronics the place of pride belongs to the correspondent member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR Semen Isaakovich Tetelbaum (1910-1958) - a graduate of the KPI, professor, head of department, dean of the faculty. S.I.
