The International Physicists' Tournament was held in Colombia. A team of girls, including a student of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Yana Kalisetska, replaced the team of boys who could not take part in the competition because of the war.

The first president of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, died at the age of 89.
Leonid Makarovych Kravchuk is an outstanding political and public figure who dedicated his life to the formation of a free, democratic, prosperous state of Ukraine.
Yukhym Moiseyovych had been working at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute since 1965: he occupied various engineering positions, was a group supervisor, and a senior researcher at the Department of Radio Receiving Devices of RTF.
Four teams took part in the competition: students of the university, students - territorial defense volunteers, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute veterans and police. With the war, the varsity team did not play in full, and the territorial defenders made their debut in the tournament.

On May 4, Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Michael Zgurovsky and Rector of Teofil Yasinovsky Poznan University of Technology Teofil Jesionowski had a meeting. It was about the cooperation of universities under conditions of war.
Student volunteers support the initiative to save animals from liberated towns and villages of Kyiv region where there were fights. The university has set up a shelter for dogs and cats. Now paws are fed and treated. Student volunteers are on duty near animals day and night.
