Library Day

Two holidays almost coincide in time—All-Ukrainian Library Day and Education Workers' Day. As noted by the famous Ukrainian educator and publicist Vasyl Sukhomlynsky, “a library is a temple where spirituality is always born and preserved.” This year, these holidays coincided with the 45th anniversary of the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library building. On this occasion, a round table discussion entitled “Community Space” was held there.

The KPI Library celebrated in a special way: by organizing a round table discussion entitled “Community Space” with legendary guests, warm stories, and pleasant surprises.

At the end of September, the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library held a traditional celebration of the All-Ukrainian Library Day. Before the opening of the celebration, its participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition ‘Creative’.

🏆 Our library is the best library in Ukraine! These are the results of the annual All-Ukrainian competition ‘Library of the Year’, which is organised by the Ukrainian Library Association together with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

The collection of rare and valuable editions of the Scientific and Technical Library contains a lithographed edition of 1907 "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Student Library-Reading Room. Catalog of Books" printed by the Kyiv printing house "Progress".

Bookcase of Novelties, BiblioTalk, book promotion - the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries was celebrated in the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

On the occasion of the Day of Libraries the Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute shared their experience during the war, discussed the present and future of library spaces.

The director of the G.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Oksana Bruy, shared a list of Ukrainian and foreign authors who helped her in her work and life on occasion of the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries.

The holiday program included the installation “Living Library” near the Foucault Pendulum; the “Secret Book” campaign at the library hall; a flash mob “Fly, live with the KPI Library”; a public report of the library and photo challenge on Facebook from the Ukrainian Library Association “Library is your pivot”.
