At the end of September, the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library held a traditional celebration of the All-Ukrainian Library Day. Before the opening of the celebration, its participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition ‘Creative’. The exposition of embroidery, artistic paintings and beaded pictures created by the library staff impressed the guests with its colourfulness and skillfulness. It is a world of unlimited creative thought, magic of materials and unexpected artistic solutions.  Thus, a multifaceted life full of interesting events pulsates within the walls of the NTL.

...In his address to the audience, Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Anatoliy Melnychenko first of all congratulated the library staff on winning the All-Ukrainian competition ‘Library of the Year 2024’. The project ‘Modern Educational Safe Space CLUST Space’, which operates on the site of the former book depository, was awarded in this way. This innovative and, at the same time, safe educational hub combines the functions of a shelter and a coworking space, where, under any external conditions, students can not only study but also gather for various events. The development of the space is ongoing: a room booking system has been developed and a separate business model for the operation of office space has been implemented. A new book collection was created specifically for CLUST Space, based on the literature already available in the library and on book donations and recommendations from publishers, companies, and opinion leaders. During the first months of its operation, the space hosted nearly 100 events. And statistics show that during this time, almost 220 air alerts were announced in Kyiv, which could not prevent this.  The total attendance of CLUST Space during this time was more than 34,000 visits...

This is the second time that the NTL has won the Library of the Year 2024 competition. In 2018, this cultural and educational institution won the Public Budget competition with the project ‘Educational Studies by Grether and Kryvanek’. This project is an open educational platform created to organise education, meaningful leisure for students, their self-development, communication, generating ideas and developing their own projects.

‘Today, the university library is one of the key units of our university, where the educational, spiritual, and cultural levels of mastering the scientific world are formed.  It is a place where modern conditions have been created for those who aspire to scientific and engineering heights, where the social capital of our university is growing thanks to the functioning of modern management and the introduction of the principles of academic integrity,’ Anatolii Melnychenko said,

In their speeches, the first vice-rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Mykhailo Bezuhlyi, the chairman of the Academic Council Mykhailo Ilchenko, and the director of the STL Yevheniia Kulyk emphasised that the library has been and remains the ‘shoulder of strength’ of our university. After all, more than 70 thousand visitors study here every month, improve their knowledge, work and create new projects. It is a modern digital, innovative educational centre of creative activity that confidently keeps pace with the world's famous libraries.

What attracts visitors to the Denysenko National Library today? ...The celebration of this year's All-Ukrainian Library Day was not limited to an art exhibition. The STL staff organised the traditional collection of literature ‘Give a book to a student’, the lucky ones received a gift set from the staff of the Denysenko STL and an invitation to a unique tour of the library...
