Sculptor Oleksandr Kuzmin: His work and works in KPI

Kyiv sculptor Oleksandr Kuzmin is one of those artists who confidently work not only with clay, bronze and stone, but also use wood, welded steel elements, marble, silver, polymer, gypsum, etc.  This helped him to form his own creative style and to embody his attitude to the topic in each new work, combining a modern vision with the classical sound of the composition.

On 29 May 1914 (all dates are old style), the second prototype of the Ilya Muromets aircraft, piloted by its chief designer Igor Sikorsky, who recently turned 25 on 25 May, took off for the first time from the Korpusnyi Aerodrom of St. Petersburg. It was much lighter than its predecessor and had more powerful engines. 

Yurii Poplavko is 90!

On 18 October, Professor Yuri Mikhailovich Poplavko turned 90!  He was born in Saratov to a civil servant's family, but lost his father early in life, who died in 1939. So in the same year, Yurii and his mother were forced to move to relatives in Leningrad.

Valentyn Anatoliyovych Svidersky turned 75!

Valentyn Anatoliyovych Svidersky was born on October 10, 1949. His childhood and youth passed in the village of Rokytne, Rivne region, where his grandfather and father worked at the local glass factory. So,from childhood he knew about the work of glass workers.
