Don't look away. Look. Remember...

We are all witnessing a tragic story unfolding before our eyes. We are paying a high price for the right to be free and independent. And our common task is to preserve the historical truth, to pass on to future generations documented evidence of both the horrors of war and, at the same time, the lessons of courage and unity, cohesion and initiative that the people of Kyiv region demonstrated to prevent the enemy from entering the capital.

Every year, school graduates - participants and winners of national and international competitions and Olympiads - join the student community of Kyiv Polytechnic. Among the most active are students of the Polytechnic Lyceum of NTUU “KPI”. The newspaper “Kyiv Polytechnic” has repeatedly told about lyceum students-inventors - pupils of the Kyiv Junior Academy of Sciences, who later became students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and their mentors. We continue this good tradition.

Hlib Skopyk. A test of the mind and personality

Hlib Skopyk, a student of the FPM, will receive a scholarship in the academic year 2024/25. He is studying Software Engineering and has the first place in the third-year academic performance rating.

On the environmental consequences of the war in Ukraine: From the Forum in KPI to the Seminar at the UN Headquarters

The issues raised at the forum and in its Declaration were also discussed at the seminar “Environmental Security during War and Armed Conflict” held on November 6, 2024, at the UN Headquarters and dedicated to the International Day for the Prevention of Environmental Exploitation during War and Armed Conflict. It focused on the environmental consequences of the war in Ukraine. 

KPISchool - for future KPI students

From October 28 to November 2, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the KPISchool Engineering Week as part of career guidance activities for schoolchildren. It was jointly organized and conducted by the faculties, educational and research institutes and the Career Guidance Department - the Career Development Center of the DNVR.

On 19 September 2024, a commemorative plaque with the inscription in Ukrainian and Polish ‘Grapes planted in 2022 on the centenary of the KPI Pupils’ Section in Poland’ was unveiled on the wall near the building No. 6, which was made in Poland and brought to Kyiv on the initiative of the long-time chairman of the Section, Doctor Emeritus of KPI Janusz Fuksa.

Today's students have to make every effort to gain quality knowledge. In recent years, they have been socially isolated due to quarantine, suffered psycho-emotional suffering, and faced the horrors of war. Their education was interrupted and changed format - from full-time to distance/mixed and back to full-time. It is all the more pleasant to talk about our students who, despite all the obstacles, not only acquire professional knowledge but also successfully find applications for it.

The list of winners of the university competition ‘Young Lecturer-Researcher’ is updated with new names every year. Based on the results of his work in 2023, the list includes Oleksandr Muravyov, Associate Professor of the Department of Automation and Non-Destructive Testing Systems (ANTS).
