Nikolay Kylchevskyy (15/06/1909, Kamenetz-Podolsk - 06.14.1979, Kyiv) - an outstanding scientist in the field of mechanics and mathematics. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1940). From March 1959 he headed the Department of the Institute of Mechanics of USSR Academy of Sciences.
On June 15, 2021, a prominent Ukrainian scientist in theoretical mechanics and teacher, two-time winner of the State Prize of Ukraine and O.M.
Expansion of the training scale of specialists exacerbated personnel problem, required to improve the work of the teaching staff. At that time at the Institute there were worked such outstanding scientists: academicians K.K. Hrenov, N.N. Dobrokhotov, F.P. Belyankin, B.S.
Nikolai Kilchevsky - known scientist-engineer and an outstanding teacher takes the rightful place in the galaxy of famous names of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute.
M. O. Kilchevskyi was born in 1909 in Kamianets-Podilskyi in a teacher’s family. Having begun to study at the KPI, he graduated in 1933 from the Kyiv Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics Institute, specializing in solid mechanics. M. O. Kilchevskyi began teaching still a student, in January 1933.
