The extraordinarily difficult winter that Ukraine has just endured clearly demonstrated how critical energy issues have become for the country. During wartime, energy security directly affects not only the functioning of the economy but has also become an integral component of national security. Ukrainian media have even described the pursuit of energy resilience as a new national idea, reflecting its vital importance for the country's present and future.

The 23rd International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students, Contemporary Challenges in Scientific Support for the Energy Sector: Security, Resilience, Information Technologies, and Environmental Monitoring, was held from April 17 to 21 in the shelter of the Hryhorii Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library.

Ukraine's energy sector is facing its most challenging period in the past eighty years. The very concept of providing the country with electricity and heat is undergoing fundamental transformation. New advanced technologies for energy generation—including distributed generation—along with modern approaches to energy transmission, energy efficiency, and energy storage are becoming increasingly important.

🔋 Representatives of JSC “Market Operator,” NEC “Ukrenergo,” PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo,” and SE “Guaranteed Buyer” held a two-day series of classes on April 6–7 at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for approximately 60 senior students from the Department of Power Supply at the -Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management ( IEE Institute) and the Department of Electrical Networks and Systems of the Faculty of Electrical Power Engineering and Automation ( FEA)

Issues and prospects for the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency were discussed by participants at the 26th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in the 21st Century,” held at Igor Sikorsky KPI from May 21 to 23.

Recently, the word “hub” has been used to refer to such concepts as an activity center, an event center, a platform for implementing projects, ideas, etc.

Our country, defending itself from its aggressive northern neighbor, suffers from damage to the energy structure and has difficulties supplying electricity to civilian consumers and military facilities.

The Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automation has established a Siemens educational and research laboratory.

October 12 to 14, 2022, the 8th International Conference "Energy Smart Systems – 2022" ("IEEE ESS-2022") was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management.
