Memorial plaques dedicated to deceased students and graduates of Igor Sikorsky KPI who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine were unveiled in academic buildings No. 7 and No. 22 of Igor Sikorsky KPI. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the university, relatives, and comrades of the deceased.

Oleg Andriyovych Zhabrovets
June 12, 1997 – September 18, 2024
2018 graduate of the Faculty of Sociology and Law (FSP) with a degree in Sociology. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend his homeland. Soldier of the 3rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was killed while performing a combat mission near the village of Novoyegorivka (Luhansk region, Svatovsky district).

Makarov Yaroslav Mykolayovych
March 16, 1993 – August 31, 2023
He graduated from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (Institite of IEE) in 2017. He became an engineer of electromechanical automation and electric drive systems and worked in his specialty. Since April 2022, he has been a soldier in the Azov Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a combat medic in the 2nd platoon of the 2nd special forces battalion of military unit 3057. His last assignment was to the Serebryansky Forestry in the Luhansk region. He was killed during a combat mission when he came under fire, sustaining shrapnel wounds while helping a comrade, covering him with his own body.

Volobuev Matviy Oleksandrovych
October 30, 2003 – December 22, 2024
He studied at the Department of Automation of Electrical and Mechatronic Systems of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (Institite of IEE) since 2022. He decided to volunteer and in June 2023 was enlisted in the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, where he served as deputy squad leader. He was killed while repelling an enemy group during a battle involving grenades and small arms (the enemy attack was repelled).
