On the night of June 17, 2025, Kyiv suffered another massive combined attack by enemy drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, resulting in many casualties and, unfortunately, deaths.
Memorial plaques dedicated to deceased students and graduates of Igor Sikorsky KPI who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine were unveiled in academic buildings No. 7 and No. 22 of Igor Sikorsky KPI.

A solar power plant has been launched at the E.O. Paton Educational and Research Institute of Materials Science and Welding. The Institute of IMZ is the second university unit after the Scientific and Technical Library to be equipped with such an alternative source of electricity.
