☑️ Students and representatives of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took part in the two-day PolyTECH Bootcamp Kyiv hackathon, organized by the innovation park UNIT.City with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Participants worked on their own projects together with mentors, presented their results to an expert jury, and engaged with business representatives.
Another track of the project was the “Universities–Business” roundtable, which focused on the development of dual education in Ukraine. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was represented by Vice-Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko and staff members of the Department of Student Development.
📊 The discussion focused on university–business partnerships, labor market needs, the training of engineering professionals, and supporting talented young people during wartime.
📌 A separate topic was the development of a Ukrainian-language large language model (LLM). According to Serhii Stirenko, Vice-Rector for Research at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the university’s computing resources could potentially be used for this purpose.
This is one of the areas where the university’s infrastructure can support technology projects of national importance.
