95 employees of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took part in a cultural and educational tour of Shevchenko’s sites in the Cherkasy region.
The itinerary included sites associated with Taras Shevchenko’s early years—the environment in which his experiences and worldview were shaped:
🔸Morintsi—the village where the poet was born: his parents’ home, the courtyard, and an area recreating the daily life of a 19th-century Ukrainian family;
🔹Shevchenkove (formerly Kyrylivka)—the village where Taras spent his childhood and youth: the Literary and Memorial Museum, his parents’ estate, and other memorable sites;
🔸Budysche—the place where the young Shevchenko served as a Cossack under Pavlo Engelhardt.
📜Such initiatives clearly characterize our university community. At KPI, we prioritize attention to national history, cultural heritage, and an environment grounded in shared values.
The trip was organized by the Cultural Commission of the Trade Union Committee of Igor Sikorsky KPI Employees, which oversees cultural events and organizes leisure and recreational activities for union members and their families.
