Why heat and power engineering is the new IT: what does the cooperation of the Heat and Power Cluster of Ukraine and the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy of the Institute of IATE promise?

At the end of December 2024, TCU and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute signed a memorandum of cooperation. The main goal is to restore the prestige of the profession, as well as to enable students to study and develop at promising Ukrainian enterprises.

It is important to understand that a thermal engineer is the profession of the future. Ukraine critically needs specialists who know how to save, convert, transfer heat and energy, and do it as efficiently and environmentally as possible.

The cooperation between TKU and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute opens up new opportunities for students:

- internships at various specialized enterprises;

- the opportunity to join the implementation of innovations;

- platforms for realizing their own ideas that can turn into a startup;

- Meetings with entrepreneurs who continue to develop their businesses in Ukraine.

The team of TKU and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute began to work actively in these areas. On April 23, students met with representatives of the association. Anatolii Korzh, director of the Brovary Boiler Equipment Plant Ardenz, Taras Shevchenko, owner of Teplobak, and Anna Shubina, HR Director at ProfInstall, spoke about the real opportunities and challenges of the industry.

Also on April 23, at the II Forum of Heat Engineering Manufacturers, Natalia Prytula, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy of the IAE, presented the achievements of the department. Afterwards, there was an active communication with manufacturers of heat engineering equipment, who see significant prospects in cooperation with the Department of TAE and the Institute.

This is only the beginning of a story in which large-scale projects, rich internships, and the growth of future professionals will be implemented through joint efforts.

Thermal power is not from the past. It is the future that we are building together: university and business. Knowledge and practice. Ideas and technologies. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and TKU.
