A graduate of our university Oleh Aksonenko (30.08.1993 - 04.01.2025) died in the war. In 2010, Oleh entered the Faculty of Electronics (Department of Acoustics), in 2014 he received a bachelor's degree and in 2016 a specialist's degree.
He worked abroad, returned to Ukraine in 2022 and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He joined his father in the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade, 143rd Battalion, military unit A7309 as a grenade launcher platoon commander, and received the call sign “Dubok”. After that, he was the commander of a fire support platoon of a fire support company and the commander of a rifle company.
On August 17, 2024, he was promoted to the rank of captain. On December 18, 2024, he was assigned to the Z Oshbrya Brigade.
According to his comrades-in-arms, in January 2025, he took part in a contact battle, injured his left shoulder, came under mortar fire and drones from two drones and received multiple shrapnel wounds and remained with his subordinates at the zero position.
On January 4, while repelling another attack, he was attacked by two drones, provided medical assistance, but the third drone proved fatal. His company repelled and held our positions.
He was seriously involved in drones. He practiced martial arts, played the jumbo, painted well, was fond of graffiti, computer design and wrote a book.
