The KPI Library celebrated in a special way: by organizing a round table discussion entitled “Community Space” with legendary guests, warm stories, and pleasant surprises.
This year's theme was architecture, as the Library building turned 45 years old.
Among the participants were people who created the history of the Library:
• Eduard Nazarenko, Vice-Rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI (1971–1992);
• Volodymyr Pasivenko, Honored Artist of Ukraine;
• Olena Lykhovodova, daughter of Volodymyr Lykhovodov, chief architect of the university.
They talked about:
• the birth of the idea of construction;
• those who built the walls of the KPI Library: architects, artists, and the KPI community;
• the history of the unique panels “Man and Nature” that decorate the halls;
• an exhibition of bricks used to build KPI buildings over the years and rare photos from the construction.
Congratulations to our Library on its anniversary! May every page of its history inspire KPI students to new discoveries!
