🇺🇦 Today the whole Ukraine celebrates the World Vyshyvanka Day! Our KPI campus has also blossomed with bright patterns! Students, teachers, staff - everyone shares their joy and pride in the traditions that have not lost their relevance for hundreds of years. Because vyshyvanka is not just clothes, it is also a way to say: “I am proud to be a Ukrainian!”

The Vyshyvanka Day 2025 in KPI is:

- traditional planting of viburnum bushes;

- treating with dumplings, dumplings, pancakes;

- performance of the creative team of the KPI CCA;

- master classes;

- charity auction - a collection for a four-wheel drive car for a graduate of the Institute of MMI, who is currently defending Ukraine;

- flash mob;

- movie screening.

Many beautiful videos from the Vyshyvanka Day 2025 in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute can be viewed on YouTube Shorts.

Some interesting facts:

- vyshyvanka used to be a talisman: its ornament protected from the evil eye;

- some craftswomen deliberately leave a small “mistake” on the shirt to avoid jinxing its beauty;

- regional styles of folk embroidery have become part of Ukraine's intangible cultural heritage, and our Vyshyvanka Day has gained international recognition, winning the main European cultural heritage award, Europa Nostra, in 2022.
