The traditional seminar on Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, which has been organised for many years by the Section of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in Poland, took place in Kobylka near Warsaw on 31 May - 2 June 2024.
Opening the official part of the seminar, Janusz Fuchs, the chairman of the Section, read a congratulatory letter to the university students from the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Mykhailo Zgurovsky. Bronisław Gynowski, Chairman of the Society of Culture and History of Technology (TC&HT), read a letter of greetings to the participants from Ewa Mankiewicz-Cudni, Chairman of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Societies NOT. Wiesław Kazana and Janusz Fuchsza made presentations on the economic situation in Ukraine and Polish aid to it. In connection with the year of General Józef Bem, a prominent Polish commander and engineer, declared by NOT, the chairman of TKtaIT also told the seminar participants about this outstanding personality who left a bright mark in the history of several countries.
Even before the opening of the seminar, KPI alumni, who came from different places in Poland and other countries, including Sweden and France, toured the city and in the evening recalled their student years spent in Kyiv. After the official part of the meeting and discussions of the reports, the participants visited Warsaw and got acquainted with the exposition of the POLIN Museum of Jewish History. During the gala dinner, hundreds of pictures from alumni meetings and celebrations on the occasion of the beginning of the academic year at KPI were shown on the screen. On Sunday, the participants visited the village of Ossów and the site of the Battle of Warsaw in the Polish-Soviet War of 1919-1920.
The seminar was organised by Wiesław and Iwona Kazana with the help of Henryk Bukalski and Joanna Lyaskowska.
