An informative meeting of Alexandru Victor Mikula with students of the Faculty of Sociology and Law (FSP) took place. They talked in a question-and-answer format about the most important issues of today: European integration, Ukraine's accession to NATO, and relations between Ukraine and Romania, a neighbouring country that has been actively supporting the sovereignty and integrity of our country since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
‘Our countries are similar in terms of historical heritage: both were under the rule of communism; both inherited an economic structure linked to the centralised economy characteristic of that time and underwent transformation. The transformation that took place in Romania during the EU integration process can provide useful lessons for Ukrainian civil servants who will be responsible for Ukraine's accession to the European Union,’ said Alexandru Victor Micula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine.
The visit of the diplomat to Kyiv Polytechnic is extremely important for both sides, because, in addition to security, economic and cultural support, Romania is very interested in deepening scientific ties with the best universities in Ukraine. Joint research and educational projects are planned to be implemented within the framework of European research and innovation programmes.
‘The potential for cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Romanian universities is very high. The two main programmes in which we can take the first steps are Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe, in which your university has already achieved significant results. It is this research dimension that will have a significant horizontal impact on the scientific potential of our universities,’ Alexandru Victor Micula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine.
