In the recently published QS World University Rankings 2025, based on a global study of higher education institutions, KPI entered the top thousand best universities in the world and took third place among Ukrainian universities.

Only two classical universities are ahead of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the Ukrainian part of the ranking - Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
In total, the ranking includes 1503 higher education institutions from 106 countries, including 11 Ukrainian ones. The results are based on the analysis of 17.4 million academic papers and expert opinions of more than 240,000 academic experts and employers. It should be noted that this is the only ranking that simultaneously focuses not only on educational and scientific issues, but also on employment and sustainable development of universities. The place of KPI in this list of world universities provided the highest coefficient of contribution of the international sphere to the distribution of funding for Ukrainian universities by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
According to the integrated parameters Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation and Employment Outcomes, KPI was ranked second in Ukraine. According to the integrated parameters International Research Network and Sustainability, KPI was ranked 4th in Ukraine. According to the integrated parameters Citations per Faculty and Faculty Student Ratio, KPI was ranked 5th in Ukraine.
According to the integral parameters International Students and International Faculty, KPI was ranked 7th and 11th in Ukraine respectively. Unfortunately, compared to the results in 2023, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has lowered its level in the ranking by 60 positions;
