Parcel lockers of the Ukrainian company ‘Nova Poshta’ will be installed in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. As you know, this company is the leader in express delivery of postal items in Ukraine both in terms of volume and speed of delivery. About 18,000 parcel lockers across Ukraine are located in the entrances of residential buildings, near shops, petrol stations, etc. Through Nova Poshta's parcel lockers, you can not only receive but also send parcels and documents.

Sergiy Manziuk, Vice-Rector for Administrative and Financial Work of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, told KP about the benefits of placing Nova Poshta post offices on campus.

- ‘The essence of the initiative with which we approached Nova Poshta is to place parcel lockers directly in the dormitories of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. This will greatly expand the opportunities for students to use the services of this company when ordering and delivering goods, products and anything else. We discussed the idea with our students, received their support, and appealed to the management of Nova Poshta to place 14 parcel lockers in all dormitories in the near future (except for those that were mothballed due to the war and the current mixed form of education). In addition, it was proposed to open a separate branch of Nova Poshta in KPI, which will provide many university departments with greater efficiency in exchanging correspondence with other organisations. The approval from Nova Poshta has already been received. Under the agreement with the company, all postal machines will be placed on a lease basis. Moreover, they will be made in the style of the university using design solutions. In general, their installation is doubly beneficial for the university - we will have money for rent and expand opportunities for students to receive social services.

- Are there any difficulties with the project implementation?

- Today, we are working in full cooperation with the State Property Fund and the Ministry of Education and Science to agree on certain organisational issues. I do not see any pitfalls in the implementation of the procedures provided for by law. Delays are possible in the implementation of technical issues, given that each dormitory has its own characteristics. After all the organisational and technical issues are settled, the project is scheduled to be implemented in mid-November.

- Can you name examples of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute's cooperation with other large companies in social projects?

- Today, we have already agreed with PrivatBank to install a terminal in the dining room of the main building (at the time of preparation of this issue, it has already been installed - ed.) This will significantly improve the service for our students and employees who use the canteen services - it will be possible to make payments not only in cash but also with cards. We also asked Kyivstar to solve the problem with communication that occurs during power outages. The fact is that the signal of Kyivstar mobile communication towers located on the territory of the university begins to sag in a few hours after a power outage, which significantly affects the connection. The company helped - 3 towers on the building of the Scientific and Technical Library, the CMC and the building No. 22 have already been installed with batteries that will operate for 8 hours during a power outage. And, accordingly, the university will be provided with high-quality communication during this time.
