On the International Children's Inventors' Day, which is celebrated annually on January 17, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Anatoliy Zagorodny, met with pupils of the Kyiv Minor Academy of Sciences (MAS) and presented the best representatives of the student youth with the Acknowledgments from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Kyiv Minor Academy of Sciences for high results in inventive activity.
Among the awardees are students of the Polytechnic Lyceum of NTUU "KPI" Roman Zdorovylo, Volodymyr Ruskykh, Viacheslav and Ilya Rybachyk, Bohdan Onoprienko and a graduate of the same lyceum Maria Derkach.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine noted the high level of scientific achievements of the students, the importance of their continued inventive activity for the future of Ukraine and wished them new success in the scientific field. It should be noted that the vast majority of young inventors' projects have a defense or dual purpose - in particular, an application for detecting explosive objects, a protective laser detection system, and a device for protecting against mine explosions. The number of such projects has increased in the last two years, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian invaders.
The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Kyiv Academy of Sciences also awarded their scientific advisors for high achievements in training young inventors in Kyiv, including Oleh Kozlenko, Honored Teacher of Ukraine, Head of the Production Technologies section of the Department of Engineering and Materials Science of the Kyiv Academy of Sciences, and teachers of the Polytechnic Lyceum of NTUU "KPI" Ivan Komarov, Oksana Spivak, and Oleksandr Dovzhenko.
