Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute traditionally pays a lot of attention to the career guidance of school youth. So, this is not the first year that the Engineering School "KPISchool" has been held on the basis of the university within the "Prospective Student" project. The year 2023 was no exception: two schools in a mixed format have already taken place. The increase in the number of registered participants testifies to the popularity of university events among young people. In January 64 students expressed their desire to participate in KPISchool, and in February there were 99 of them.
According to Nataliia Pozharska, Head of the Office for Employment Promotion and Professional Development of the Department for Student Affairs, participation in "KPISchool" is a great opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in a narrow technical field (robotics, electronics, programming, etc.) from university lecturers and students, to expand one's outlook and to join the student community.
The programme of the last Engineering School was designed for four days, during which a complex of master classes and meetings was organized for future entrants with the participation of invited partners from Kharkiv IT Cluster (Anastasiia Shapoval, Education Programs Coordinator), representatives of the Faculty of Radio Engineering (Yana Zinher, associate professor at the Department of Applied Radio Electronics of the RTF) and the Educational and Research Institute of Telecommunication Systems (representatives of the Student Design Bureau of the ITS). "At the School of Engineering, we talk about technical specialties, the technical capabilities of our university, and we also give our prospective students the opportunity to try and create something with their own hands," commented Oksana Zakharchenko, deputy dean for employment of the Faculty of Radio Engineering. And now, high school students had the opportunity to take part in the adapted career guidance game "Kids2IT", a class on applied radio electronics, a master class on recycling used batteries and accumulators into various useful elements, and a webinar on how to use information on the global network.
After finishing, all participants received certificates. "Thank you very much for the opportunity to undergo such an interesting training, and receive certificates," Denys Shatokhin, a student of the 10th grade of Kyiv secondary school 78, wrote to the Office for Employment Promotion and Professional Development. "I really hope that I will have the opportunity to attend classes in the future." Several participants also expressed a desire to become members of student clubs and continue their research.
The team of the Office for Employment Promotion and Professional Development and university lecturers are already preparing for the next Engineering School. It will take place during the school holidays at the end of March.

Проєкт «Майбутній КПІшник» створений з метою популяризації та розвитку інженерної і наукової думки серед учнівської молоді, створення позитивного іміджу університету, підвищення поінформованості серед вступників про наукову та просвітницьку діяльності КПІ ім. Ігоря Сікорського.
Запрошуємо приєднатись до проєкту шкільну молодь (5-11 класи) з усіх регіонів України за трьома напрямами:
- Студентський наставник - допомога школярам здобувачами вищої освіти розібратися в темах з математики, фізики, хімії та англійської мови за шкільною програмою 8-10 класів.
- Інженерна школа KPISchool - додаткові заняття вузького технічного спрямування із залученням здобувачів вищої освіти та викладачів університету: робототехніка, електроніка, програмування тощо (8-11 класи).
- Освітньо-екскурсійна діяльність на базі КПІ ім. Ігоря Сікорського (5-11 класи) – проведення екскурсій Кампусом університету, ознайомлення шкільної молоді з діяльністю факультетів/НН інститутів, роботою наукових, інженерних та соціогуманітарних гуртків тощо.
